Artist Statement

I want my paintings to reflect great power and emotional intensity yet a simple happiness. I love the chaos that nature gives us. From the simplicity of a single flower to the kaleidoscope of color in the forest to the humor in the animal world to the serenity of the countryside.

Van Gough broke free from the traditional style of painting of his time. He preferred to paint in the moment instead of sticking to tradition. He painted simply for the love of painting. I admire Van Gough for his adventurous spirit.

Every artist should endeavor to create their own sense of style. Impression-Expression defines mine. Lots of color, heavy texture; pushing the boundaries of abstraction.
